Coconut milk is made from the flesh of coconut mixed with water. This differs from coconut water, which is the liquid inside green coconuts. People have been using coconut milk as hair loss remedy for centuries. In fact, coconut is a source of dietary fat that is thought to help maintain your hair, skin, and nails. The fat is just one of the coconut milk elements, which can restore moisture and strengthen the hair, among other potential benefits.

The coconut oil profile has firm moisturizing results which may condition dry scalp and dry hair. The coconut has been frequently added to certain anti dandruff shampoos and conditioners, along with more standard ingredients, such as pyrithione zinc for its remarkable moisturizing results, which can condition both your hair and scalp. Besides its anti dandruff effects, coconut milk has anti-inflammatory effects, which can help prevent scalp itching. However, lauric acid is one of the coconut’s major components. Coconut milk contains micronutrients such as vitamin and minerals. In theory, some micronutrients in coconut might keep your hair healthy and moisturized. Coconut milk has a high profile of protein that can keep your hair strong. Your hair, skin, and nails comprise keratin, a protein in the body that is supported by eating a protein-rich diet. How to Make Coconut Milk?

Coconut milk in canned form is accessible at department stores, but at home, you can also make your own. Mix 1 cup of shredded fresh coconut pulp together with 2 cups of warm water. Put the ingredients in blinder jar and blind it for 2 to 3 minutes. Use cheesecloth or a strainer to remove any remaining particles your coconut milk should be ready.

How to make a coconut milk hair mask?

A coconut milk hair mask is a mixture of homemade coconut milk together with other hair-promoting oils like almond, or jojoba oils. To make coconut milk hair mask, add a couple of drops of additional almond oil. Upon preparation of your coconut milk hair mask, apply it smoothly to moist hair. Use a comb to ensure that it uniformly covered your hair. Leave on for up to 20 minutes and rinse thoroughly. However, you can also use plan coconut milk for the same purpose.

Side Effects and Precautions

Unless you are not allergic to coconut, the milk is safe to use. However, conducting a skin allergy test is always an excellent idea, just in case you are susceptible to the specific coconut milk. It’s workable that you may develop a skin rash after applying the milk to your hair and scalp, so you’ll want to make sure that you don’t have coconut allergy. Coconut milk has an oily texture because of its elevated fat content. If you already have an oily scalp, this may not be perfect for you.


Coconut milk is one of the oldest and most natural ingredients, which have been used for centuries to treat skin, scalp, and hair problems. Most of its health and beauty benefit claims are based on traditional use. While coconut milk may not harm your hair, it may not fix all hair problems. The best way is to see a dermatologist for help if you continue to encounter dry, damaged, or losing hair.
